The 4th annual Chalk It! event will be held July 21-23, 2011 as part of the Downtown Mt. Pleasant Street Festival. Adults and children enjoy watching professional artists and local apprentices create renditions of masterpiece Renaissance paintings and contemporary works in chalk on the sidewalks throughout the day.

For centuries artists have painted beautiful images on the boulevards and squares of great cities, using chalk as their medium and the street pavement as their canvas. Downtown Mt. Pleasant Michigan continues the legacy of the street painting art form by offering Downtown Mt. Pleasant Street Festival visitors an opportunity to shop, dine or see a live musical performance as the artworks come to life

Featured artist Lee Jones of Chalk-It-Up will be back again this year to create another masterpiece for us!. Visit the work in progress at the corner of Broadway and University.
